Kyle McClary is an artist-scientist and one of the founders of the World in a Cell project. He developed the World in a Cell through his organization, BASA (the Bridge Art + Science Alliance, www.bridgeartsci.org), which connects artists and scientists for collaborations and incubates art-science projects. Kyle is also finishing a PhD at the Bridge Institute of the University of Southern California where his work is centered on creating new visualization techniques to communicate complex phenomena. Lately, his focus has been to develop four-dimensional models of biological processes that are too small to be seen, even by the most powerful microscopes. When Kyle isn’t working on art-science projects like the World in a Cell, he is connecting artists and scientists for collaborations through BASA. Guided by the belief that digital media is the language of the 21st century, Kyle’s mission is to make science engaging and accessible to everyone.
